Well, if you know anything about me, you would know that my two BIGGEST loves are hip-hop and skateboarding. My friend Vinnie sent me this morning so I decided to put it up. What's more realer than that?

2 cents for a CASE, give me st.ides brew!!
Remember those St. Ides Commercials from the 90s?
Well I dug this one up from the vaults.
Meth, Rae, and Ghost expressing their love for their favorite drink. Tell me Ghostface's part isn't hilarious the way he pops out of the wood floorboard on some cheap kung fu shit.
CLASSIC.

Young Buck- Rumors
Now I don't want to look like a G-Unit fan boy, but after his presence on that Elephant in the Sand mixtape, Young Buck was bound to shine on a solo mixtape released this morning. The Nashville Tennessee native's signature delivery and down south flavor is Monster and needs to be spotlighted. The cover is pretty cliche to some extent, but the characters on the cover are easily recognizable as his former Ca$h Money friends Lil' Wayne and Baby and his new boss, Mr. Curtis Jackson. Young Buck has been out of the spotlight for a while, and that is why this mixtape caught my eye.
The mixtape begins with a frog-like
Lil Wayne speaking on the first track about him and Buck settling their dispute
mano-a- mano and them not having a problem.
Blah blah blah. Let's get into the rapping.
"War Witcha Homeboy" is a prime example of what Buck has been up to for all this time. The background reminds me of a Three 6 Mafia song, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Good sample and you can tell the energy is still there.
The next track is "I'll Be Back". What does he mean? HE NEVER LEFT!! "I made my mind up before I gotta record deal/ you can make fake money, but respect is real." Enough said.
"New York City" is the the best track on the entire mixtape. I will tell you that RIGHT now. This song immediately begins comparing himself to the NYC's finest (Except for Diddy... but it rhyme s with Biggie, so whatever). "Never met Big L or Big Pun/ we only got big dreams where a nigga come from." What's more realer than THAT? Coming from the dirty dirty I understand how important it is to pay respect to the birthplace of hip-hop and those who paved the way for Southern rappers. Did I mention the Phil Collins sample? Same used on 2pac's "Starin' At The World Through my Rearview", but of course Buck shouts him out in the song. HEART AND SOUL OF NEW YORK CITY!!
No offense to Young Buck... but the rest of the tape is downhill from a heart stopper like the last track. Now onto "5-0" the song is pretty slow and a monologue about crooked cops. Not really worthy of recognition. "I Ain't Fuckin' Wit U" is just an alternate verse from another song, and even though Snoop is the man, the song ain't really my style. "I ain't finna argue/ I don't even know you my nigga, WHO ARE YOU?"
"I don't care" is a song that I don't care for either. "Feel lights" is a rap on a Carter 2 instrumental (Feel Me), I don't really like it though. "Gone in the Morning" is some R&B radio type shit that I definitely am NOT feeling. "Respect the Shooter" features many G-unit artists and it's that kind of grimy get down and shoot a nigga type shit. There are little Fat Boys references with the "Brrrr Stick Em, hahaha Stick em." It's ok.
"Put me in the game" is about haters and those that owe him to pay up. Pretty good song. It's definitely worth listening to."Throw Your Hoods Up" is kinda weak though. That one is about representing a your gang sets, but how many times have we heard that? "Mr Ten a Key" is on that Boyz N Da Hood beat... Everybody Know Me. Bring on the GRIMY. "That's why I don't roll wit y'all/you thinkin TOO small/I'm thinking speedboats, airplanes, and U-hauls." OUCH.
I have only touched down on the first 14 tracks, but there are 14 more. Check the entire mixtape out right here:

Elephant in the...SAND?
Just this week your favorite Bronx bomber Fat Joe released his comeback album cleverly named, "The Elephant in the Room" where he whines about his fans sleeping on him. Dude needs to get his bald head out of his fat ass and realize that he fell off after his self titled album Don Cartagena and will never be on top of anything ever. Enough about this whack ass rapper Fat Joe, and lets talk about something worth your time.Elephant in the Sand is the name of the new G-Unit mixtape that was just released the same day as Elephant in the Room and as you can see from just the cover, this shit is fucking hilarious!! I do want to know who that fine girl in the bikini is next to him...
Let me begin this by stating that I am not and was never a big 50 cent fan, but I gave this mixtape a chance simply based on the cover. The mixtape begins with the ever popular WHOO KID repitition on a track named "Rat Joe". Here there is a snippet of a radio/phone interview with a witness of the Game and 50 cent shooting at Hot 97 and ends it with "the truth is going to come out..." Here comes the first song. "Hollow Thru Him" the whole immediate G-Unit family is on it and it is HOT!!
There is a track called "Rider Part 2" that is just 50 singing, "wowowowowowowo" over and over using the t-pain voice box so I just SKIPPED!! "Red Light,Green Light"is a pretty straight foward track."Nigga stop at the red light!! Infrared beam, I go hard for the green, cause a homicide scene!" 50 cent is really going hard on this track and it's only #4.
"I'm on it like that" is a good track too with very smooth Whoo Kid production and perfect flow executed on it complete with gunshots. The chorus is almost similiar to Nas' on "Take It In Blood". "lil niggas like game think they ultimate warrior, fat nigga like joe think they andre the giant/ put my ruger in his face, his fat ass'll be quiet."-Tony Yayo. Sit there and tell me thats not raw. Attacking Game and Fat Joe so seamlessly. This is hot.
Next track is called, "Fully Loaded" and has a slow deep melodious beat and is complete with a sample of 50 cent himself. I think Llyod Banks has the toughest verse on this one, but the chopped and screwed words at the end each bar make it hard to understand.
"Rat Joe skit 2" is up next, but you need to hear this for yourself. Wasn't really feeling "Confrontation"very much because it sounds like a reject track off of Beg For Mercy. "Sunroof Open" is TOUGH. "Come to me with your hand out, I'ma spit in ya fuckin' hand!!"-50 cent. The sample is some nice and smooth soul harmony and it is not hard to feel it.
"I Fucked Your Bitch" the title says it all!! A 3.29 minute T-Pain/Ne-yo-esque sound-a-like track and I STRONGLY advise you just skip it. Truely.
"Chase da Cat" begins with... EMINEM introducing Whoo Kid. What has HE been doing lately I wonder? Anyway... "Chase da Cat" is not worth listening to either. An extremely boring party jam. Tony Yayo's verse is pretty comical however, so just check that part out.
"Lifetime Achievement" is a 50 cent award acceptance speech track. Bragging on his "Curtis" sales accomplishments, and thanking God is the intro, but he eventually gets to the rapping. Super strong political undertones in this track, so you GOTTA listen up!!
"Say a prayer for me homie naw, pray for Obama." - 50 cent
"If I could, I wouldn't vote for Hillary/ man a bitch rulin' the world, man ya kiddin' me." - Tony Yayo
Young Buck has the slickest verse on this one. "The kids want money, FUCK an autograph."
Here comes the outro. Nothing special on this. Whoo Kid shoutouts. END.
Overall tough mixtape and I am surprised they dedicated an entire tape to him and used a wonderful sense of humor on the title and cover. Don't forget to peep the back too. Joey CRACK!

IBS Presents The Pete Rock Remix Files Volume 1
What's good all...Here is a Pete Rock remix compilation I did a while ago and I thought it might be appreciated here, you probably already have these remixes, but if not...I know you will enjoy them.
I guess that most of us aren't that happy with Pete's latest album NY's Finest, it's just lacking that raw soul and groove that Pete used to have and some of his guests were boring or wack (Jim Jones!!!?...why???, that dude is mad terrible and the beat is one of the best on the album, I could hear Bumpy Knux on that joint easily),"Questions" is fat, and where the hell has Royal Flush been? "I took some time off"?...haha that's the understated rhyme of the year, I dig a lot of the production especially "Comprehend" (with the ill 10cc sample), "Best Believe" with Redman tearing shit up is great as well...but I do prefer Pete's older style and feel that it, if it wasn't broke, why the need to fix it?.

Ill Street Blogs
Hey, what's up? I am just a high school web design student who loves hip-hop. This is basically a blog to discuss everything hip-hop related. I also feature unsigned artists on here, because I love to promote quality music. My favorite rapper is Kool G. Rap, and this is where I got the Ill Street Blues name from. Thanks.
